Called to make a difference
Do you know that
God is interested in your concerns? Not just from afar, but in close, present
and ongoing way. He is. God wants to re-sensitise the spirit of humanity to
realise that our concerns are birthed out of our compassion. This is a desire
to help others work through their circumstances and into something more
profitable for their lives.
Equally, God is incredibly interested in your career. Going to work each
day should be seen as an opportunity to influence the spiritual environment of
those we work amongst. The Apostle Paul puts it this way,
“Whatever you do, do your
work heartily as for the Lord rather than for men knowing that from the Lord
you will receive the reward…” (Colossians 3:23-24)
Put simply, as we
allow the Holy Spirit to cultivate our spirit, He will lead us to a place where
we understand and live out the following, “Compassion will move you to act.
Your career will pay you, to enable you to act. However, your calling is what
you were ultimately made for.”
You have been called by God to represent Him in every sphere of your
life. Timothy says,
“God
is the one who saved and called us with a holy calling. This wasn’t based on
what we have done, but it was based on His own purpose and grace that He gave
us in Christ Jesus before time began” (2 Timothy 1:9 CEB)
He did not create
us to simply exist and then die. Humanity is unlike the animals and the trees.
We were made in His image, and His image includes eternity. Why don’t you allow
the Holy Spirit to bring a renewed sense of His presence to your life? This
includes the recognition that He has incredible plans for you. He has called
you to make a difference through your concerns, your career and your calling.
