Here’s the thing – parallel
realities do exist. Satan and Jesus are real. Both are actively at work to
secure your eternal destiny. There is a heaven and a hell. There is Absolute
Truth and there also is Subjective Truth. Good and Evil do exist.
There are hundreds of different
scenarios going on about me that I am either unaware of, or am unaffected by,
or don’t even realise exist. Yet the people I interact with may be living in
one of those scenarios:
·
The
Medical world – you or a loved one gets sick -
hospitals, specialists, medication, diagnosis, medical terminology,
uncertainty.
·
The
Prison world – jail and incarceration of
someone in your family – isolation, fear, embarrassment, consequences,
loneliness.
·
The
Addiction world – self-abuse, loss of control,
perhaps violence, estrangement, disease, shame, guilt.
·
The
Divorce world – brokenness, hurt, loneliness,
dreams shattered, children lost, embarrassment, grief, crisis of identity.
·
What about the Grief world – when someone dies, or
when a child goes astray.
·
The Financially Bankrupt world – when you
lose everything you have worked hard for and now live with the stigma.
·
Not to mention
the world of Abuse, the Homeless world,
a Lonely world, the world of Depression or Anxiety, the world of Pain…
There are thousands of things going
on around us all the time. Some of us are in one of these I’ve just mentioned –
the fact is that all of us are traveling in a set of circumstances that we call
our current “reality”.
Like the Hollywood movies that we
watch that purport to have discovered some way to travel between alternate
realities, we need to discover the door that reaches out to our fellow human
beings with a hand of hope as they wrestle within their world. I believe I’ve
found that door - it’s found in the
Power of our Testimony.
Testimony is the bridge between my
world and yours. Stories of intervention and hope leap across the divide of our
lives; our individual circumstances that bring hope and life.
Believe it or not – your story,
your testimony can have a powerful impact on someone else’s life. No matter how
simple or trivial you may feel it is. Each time you share your story it
impacts, challenges and touches another person who may just be going through
the very same set of circumstances. The impact of God working through our
everyday lives is a story that needs to be told.
You may think the story you have to
tell is very small – but to a person going through the same issue - it’s a
lifeline! Be a bridge to someone today. Reach out to them with your story.
