As was mentioned in an earlier blog, one thing that stands
out firmly within the Revelation is the Christology. The Revelation begins by
stating, that it is ‘The Revelation of Jesus Christ’ (Rev 1:1). This critical
issue needs to be kept in the foreground as the various motifs are encountered
in the book. This is the Revelation of what Christ will do in the now and in
the future (Rev 1:19).
One way John dealt with
the Christology was to record the amazing titles given to Jesus Christ as it
was interwoven throughout the Revelation revealed to him in the visions. Again
I offer a word of caution; it is important that these following references be
read in their context. They are not really arranged in any order of importance
nor is the list exhaustive. For example, they are,
