Some exciting news by Ps Jim Jung

Isn't God timely when He speaks! Especially when a collective sense of confirmation circulates amongst those of us who have been actively leaning into Him for our future. Over the past few months our Eldership and Board have been processing some exciting new staff positions within our church to ensure we are building a solid ministry team that will lead us into all He has for us to achieve.

During the month of November, two of our apostolic fathers spoke powerfully, prophetically and incredibly specifically to our church that: seasons have changed (Ps David McCracken) and; a time of refurbishment has come (Ps John Cairns). Both of these men knew nothing of the work our Eldership and Board had begun to consider for 2015. Isn't God timely when He speaks!

I am very excited to share the changes we are planning to bring into effect in February 2015. These changes continue to move us closer toward our strategic operational plan to see Peninsula City Church effectively "Reach and Renew People". The alignment with the prophetic words in November are also greatly encouraging!

On February 22nd 2015, we will be ordaining 3 new pastors. These are:

David Podhaczky - will become our first ever ordained Youth Pastor.

Natalie Clarke - will be filling our newly created Reach In Pastor role as a Trainee Pastor.

Malcolm May - will be filling our newly created Reach Out Pastor role.

(The Reach In Pastor role is focused on ensuring we build and maintain healthy community amongst our growing church family. The Reach Out Pastor role is evangelistic in its function and will seek to find ways to activate people to share their faith).

We have also positioned:

Sarah Head - as our Children's Church leader (replacing Sammantha Van Tienen).

Josephine Sim - will be joining our administration team.

We have also appointed:

David Goschnick onto our Eldership/Board as an ex-officio member for 2015.

James Williams is currently an ex-officio member of the Eldership/Board and will be considered for full membership in our Eldership team in 2015.

Ps Bill Hybels says that "the church is the hope of the world", therefore our task is to ensure we position ourselves to be ready to respond to the opportunities He allows us to partner with Him. As an Eldership, we believe these important ministry positions take us a little closer to being able to ensure our message, mandate and mission are achieved.

These are exciting days to be ministers of Jesus Christ. The Gospel is the only message that will bring lasting transformation to the people of our world. Together, we will see God do more in the days ahead than we ever saw in the days that have passed.

I'm sure you will join with us in congratulating, celebrating and supporting each of the people taking on these significant roles. Pray for them. Encourage them.

On behalf of our Eldership & Board

Ps Jim Jung

Lead Pastor
