Experiencing God in Daily Life by Ps Michael Podhaczky

How do you react when you are having an unpleasant day at work, uni, school, the sports club, gym or even the shopping centre? What would those who you are in contact with in these spaces say about your reaction? Would they say that it is Christlike or would they say something else? What if God showed up at this place; what would they say?

Well, if I were to ask you, what should be a Christian’s main concern when it comes to living well in the world today.[1] What would you say? Don’t read on yet, but pause and think about this for a minute. On this matter, Jesus said,
14 “You are the light of the world…16 let your good or beautiful deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father” (Matt 5:14 & 16 NLT).
Do you know that God is already at work around and through you?

The difference between a good work and a God work is what I have called the ‘O’ factor. A good work is simply not good enough from a Kingdom perspective, as it comes from a faulty motive. What is required is to have an ‘O moment with your Heavenly Father. It works like this - if you have an ‘O moment with Him (that is a time of hearing Him and then obeying His lead), then this will lead to a God work. Place the ‘O’ moment together with obeying God, then you have a ‘Good’ work with its origin in your Heavenly Father. Otherwise, it will merely be an empty self-motivated, self-gratifying and Godless good work, having no eternal fruit.

Ask Him to ‘OPEN’ your eyes to see where He is already working around you. You know, He has already been working in the life of the receptionist, your boss, the customer, the checkout person, the person on the other treadmill, the person sitting on the seat outside the shop waiting for their partner etc… ‘Ask Him to ‘OPEN’ your eyes to see where He is already working around you. Then step into the moment and shine the light of the world, that those whom you are in contact with will glorify our heavenly Father.
