Taking it for granted - by Ps Michael Podhaczky

Stop for a moment and think about the things that we can take for granted. We can take the fact that we are alive and breathing lovely air for granted. We can take for granted that the Lord who owns the very air in our lungs is with us at all time. The fact that we have another day to live and enjoy the Lord each moment of this day, regardless of what comes our way.

We can go through days (and some may even go weeks or months) and take Him and His gift of life for granted. We have been walking through our teaching series on Sundays on, “Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good! (Ps. 34:8 ESV). I don’t know about you, but even as I breathe in the gift of God’s air to us, sometimes I can taste it. Especially on a cold foggy morning. But how often do we just stop and thank Him for that lovely air and lungs to be able to receive this air.

Now you might be thinking, but its just air. We do not have to tell ourselves to breathe and we take this gift for granted. Just talk with someone who has problems with their lungs, and they will explain how grateful they are for every breath. Yes, that’s right it is air, but without it we will die. We need the air to survive this very moment that we are reading this blog. Stop for a moment and see how long you can hold your breath. How did you go, were you able to make three minutes? I couldn’t, but when I did breathe again, it was so lovely and my lungs drew it right in as a gift.

Pause in His presence for a moment and think this over…
