Thank You - Part 2 by Ps Michael Podhaczky

We can all have those moments/days when we simply feel overcome by life, certain events or even people. They can get the better of us, and we are just not thankful for our gift of life from our Heavenly Father. We find it difficult to say thank you to Him. Instead, we worry, are anxious and complain. When was the last time that you were in this tight spot?

Well, we will all have challenges that will come our way; it doesn’t matter who we are in life. But if we are not aware, we can miss those fantastic chances to give thanks. As was said in the previous blog,

“We have nothing to complain about, absolutely nothing, but everything to be thankful for today.”

Each day is a gift from God. We can either discover that and use it well, or bury it and lose it. We all have the same 24 hour period allocated to each of us each day. So, we cannot say that things are unfairly proportioned. However, each of us will spend the day differently. Some will give thanks for it and for all that comes our way in the period and invest it wisely. While others will worry, be anxious and complain on the same day, squandering it foolishly.

We can either have a peaceful moment/day full of thanksgiving regardless of what comes our way or be overwhelmed and controlled by anxiety. Paul pointed out to the local church at Philippi,

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus” (Phil 4:6-7 ESV).

In other words, talk to God regarding what is going on in your life right now and be thankful in the moment. Give it all to Him grateful for the moment to grow to be more Christlike. Then in exchange, we shall be guarded by the peace of God. Notice that it is in our hearts and mind that is guarded.

Pause in His presence for a moment and think this over…
